There is positive momentum and negative momentum.
Are you creating positive momentum in your life, drawing the things you want in your life, or are you pushing it away?
In this blog I'm going to give you ten suggestions (or reminders) to help you maintain focus on what really matters.

1.  Take some time to decide what you want specifically to clarify your future outcome. Success is seeing what you want and taking decisive action towards your vision. What is important to you? What is your passion? More importantly, who will you become as a result of you achieving your goals? How will your achievement contribute to others and make an impact?

“You want to set a goal that is big enough that in the process of achieving it you become someone worth becoming.” Jim Rohn Success Coach Philosopher

2.  Use visual reminders of your goals. Create a Vision board and get some magazines and cut out pictures and words related to your goals. Put them on a poster board and place it where you can see them on a regular basis, like your bathroom mirror, in your wallet, in your office, next to your computer. For more information on Vision Boards go to www.visionlounge.com and register. It’s free and you can even create a vision board screen saver for your computer.

"When the dream is big enough, the odds don’t matter.” Les Brown

3.  Set clear and specific goals with realistic timelines. Write down the goal, how you will know when you achieve it, and the date you will achieve it. Example: By 1 Dec 2010 I will be making $15,000 a month post tax income.

"The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.” Michelangelo

4.  Create a To List to use your time wisely. Make a daily to do list in the evening for the next day to keep you on track with your goals. Not a general to do list like you make when you go to the grocery store, but a defined to do list. Example: Meditation 5am – 5:15am; Workout 6:15 – 7:15 etc. Reason is you don’t want to spend a lot of time on one specific thing and at the end of the day nothing was accomplished.

5. Take action. When opportunity presents itself that corresponds with your goals, don’t hesitate, and take action. Many times we overwhelm ourselves by looking at the overall goal, instead of taking it one step at a time.

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step.” Martin Luther King Jr. Legendary civil rights leader

6.  Celebrate the small successes. Get into the habit of celebrating the small successes during your journey toward achieving your goals. Keep Score. It is in our nature to improve our score with any physical accomplishment, so apply the same towards your goals. Imagine how you felt when you beat your previous score and how motivated you will be when the score continues to improve. Understand that each small accomplishment brings you closer towards your goals.

“You have to measure what you want more of.” Charles Coonradt founder, The Game of Work

7.  Fill your mind with inspiration. Read books about your craft, listen to audio programs, and watch videos that educate, uplift, and inspire you. Read and learn about people who have done what you want to do.

“You will be the same person in five years as you are now, except for the people you meet and the books you read.” Charlie “Tremendous” Jones

8.  Find a Mentor. Find someone that would add input, support advice, feedback, and accountability to help you maintain your focus on your goals, but more importantly has blazed the trail that your currently on to help minimize your mistakes toward achievement.

“Study anyone who’s great, and you’ll find that they apprenticed to a master, or several masters. Therefore, if you want to achieve greatness, renown, and superlative success, you must apprentice to a master. Robert Allen, co Author of One Minute Millionaire

9.  Consistently review your goals weekly. Review your goals weekly and assess your progress. This will add fuel to your fire and help you maintain your focus on what matters. It will also help you create new ideas and recognize opportunities that will assist you towards achieving your goals.

10.  Believe it’s Possible. Many times people don’t set goals because they don’t believe in themselves, they are scared of failure, and what other people may think of them when they fail. Most people fail, not because they lack the skills, training or aptitude to reach their goals, they simply don’t believe they can achieve it. Whatever your vision is, you can achieve it, but it starts with believing in yourself.

“You can be anything you want to be, if only you believe with sufficient conviction and act in accordance with your faith; for whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.” Napoleon Hill Best selling author of Think and Grow Rich.

When you take action and stay focused on what really matters, you create positive momentum… and momentum creates action that brings results.

You can get what you want.
You can achieve your goals.
You can live the life you want to live.

You can do anything... when you put your beliefs, mind, and action in concert with direct focus to achieve your goals.  If you don't know where to start, I invite you to do a complimentary discovery session that will help you understand yourself, your unique core values, and what you need to do to use your personal power to achieve your goals.

Stretching you towards tremendous success...
