It’s a feeling of heaviness deep within you. You try to ignore it, but you can’t. Dread and discouragement gradually seep into your thoughts. Fear and apprehension soon follows, until you are completely paralzyed to take action, and your defeated before you even try.
I feel just like this when I start a new project or tackle something that I've been trying to accomplish.
It makes me want to curl up into a ball and cry. I feel lost and alone and my heart races and I my mind starts wandering and thinking about everything I percieve will happen and I feel like I want to give up. I want to fall on my bed and bury my face in a pillow. But that doesn’t work, because the sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach doesn't allow me to sleep.
Fear is terribly painful on so many levels. so in this blog I'm going to talk about how I approach my fears and want to personally challenge you to do the same, so read on and enjoy!
I approach my fears by challenging myself to do one thing a week to face my fear and I challenge you to do the same. Now I've been doing this for a while and when I first got started I challenged myself to do just one thing a month, so I am giving you a personal challenge to do the same.
Challenge yourself each month to do one thing that you fear and slowly your fears will disappear.
Confront your fears, list them, get to know them and write the reasons why you are fearful, then ask yourself what immediate steps can I take towards facing the fear, only then will you be able to face your fear, put them aside and move ahead.
Your obstacles will melt away, if instead of cowering before them, you make up your mind recognize, embrace, and walk boldly through them.
One of the greatest surprises and a even great personal success you'll experience I have is this...you'll discover that you can do what you were afraid you couldn't do.
The only thing you have to fear is fear itself.
When you face the things that scare you, you open the door to mental freedom and release that negative energy from carrying that fear for so long.
Take the challenge. I promise that if you give yourself 30 seconds to push through the fear, you'll find that what you feared was only what you percieved in the mind. I’ve shared this with you because, honestly, I challenge myself daily and I've helped thousands of my coaching/course students over the past decade push through their fears.
Either way, please know we’re all in this together. I’m far from perfect, just like you. We all share the commonality of having fears when we try something new or that we failed before in the past, and we also share the bond of being able to start again.
And that’s what we must do. Together.
Let’s start again and push through something that we are afraid of. Today.
